Poor old
Pete Doherty returned home from Madrid over the weekend to discover that his home had been
burgled. Thieves had stolen some of his blood paintings (they must have been desperate) and one of his guitars. Well at least he knows how
Carl Barat felt five years ago...
Pete Doherty returned to his home in Wiltshire to discover it had been raided and that his £1000 guitar and three of his own blood paintings were missing. We're more shocked to discover Pete owned anything over a fiver. Or that he even noticed his home had been broken into.
Pete was in Madrid playing with his band Babyshambles and returned home yesterday to discover the break in.
And, in an ironic twist, Pete himself is a convicted burglar. He broke into the home and stole from former Libertines bandmate Carl Barat in 2003. He was sentenced to six months in prison which was later reduced to only two months.
So this could justifiably be seen as further punishment. And karma.
