The first episode hasn't been broadcast yet and it's already causing a bit of a rumpus.
It seems that hell hath no fury like women scorned, especially when there are 30 of them and they get snubbed by Piers Morgan. (The cheek of it!)...
An acrobat troupe called Renaissance are complaining to all and sundry (well - a couple of internet forums) that they were talked into getting new costumes after getting a callback to London. They tootled off and raised £3000 from friends and family, came down, spent all day sitting in a café only to be told they wouldn't be seen and hadn't made it.
Jewels39 had this to say/scream:
hi all well heres the news we didnt get through neither but this is our
story at the last audition simon told us to change r costumes n routine
before the next round.. WELL AFTER TODAY THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS
WHAT ROUND britians got talent is a sham they put you through to a next
stage that doesnt exist they base there decision on the audition they
all put you through on at the last round..... so basically they are
saying yes but to most people there actually already saying know what
kind of competition is that... THIS GOD HELP US IS OUR DAY... ARRIVE IN
LONDON
10AM AFTER LEAVING LIVERPOOL AT 4.30AM.... WE ARE THEN USHERED INTO A
ROOM WITH NO CHAIRS TO SIT ON AND NOT EVEN SO MUCH AS A GLASS OF
WATER...are these people thick
So we sent an email to the makers of BGT. They said:
It is made perfectly clear to all acts on the day they get through their first audition in front of the Judges that they WILL NOT have to perform for a second time and that no preparation needs to be made for the Deliberation Day which was held last Saturday 9th Feb. This is made clear to all acts in two letters, the first received on the day they get through and in a second letter when details of the deliberation day were sent through. Out of the 500 acts who got through to the deliberation day, Renaissance where the only who didn’t seem to understand how the process worked.
The story doesn't end here though - on
the same forum, this interesting little nugget popped up:
I think its staged, i was told by a string quartet who performed at the x factor after show party to audition
for bgt they were always going to get through.
The act in question are Scala, the band pictured. So, did they get invited after playing at the aftershow party? Over to you official spokesperson!
The rules of Britain's Got Talent states that the show is open to ANY performer of ANY level. All acts go through the same audition process from application through to their audition in front of the Judges no matter if they are professional or amateur acts. Yes it was suggested that they audition, as with a number of acts who are made aware the auditions are taking place – this clearly doesn’t guarantee any advantage to any act and again they go through the same process.
So there you have it... you weren't good enough - you didn't make it. Shut up and sit down.
