Apparently doctors are concerned that
Amy Winehouse may have
tuberculosis after coughing up blood and suffering a serious chest infection. Other symptoms of the illness she appears to have are weight loss and loss of appetite. But that could just be the drugs.
Doctors have also detected an irregular heartbeat.
A source told The Sun:
"Amy is in a bad way. Doctors are
still struggling to control her heartbeat but the chest condition has been
really worrying them. She’d been been suffering horrible coughing fits and hurling up blood for
a while but refused to be examined. Doctors now believe it is tuberculosis
and are doing more tests to be certain."
She has been in hospital since she was admitted by her father for a precautionary measure after fainting.
Tuberculosis is common among drug users because of their weaker immune system.
The source continued:
"The word tuberculosis might frighten her into getting herself well. It
certainly should do. She needs to realise she will die if she she doesn’t clean up her act."
If the sight of a ghoulish apparition in the mirror every morning doesn't frighten her into getting well, we don't think any words are going to do it.
