OBLIGATORY YOUTUBE CLIP!

This has, I must confess, annoyed me somewhat. For this is Victoria Beckham singing live, and while it isn’t quite up to ‘X-Factor’ standards, it isn’t quite as bad as I was expecting.



The clip is from several years ago, filmed at some private party where someone requested that Posh get up and sing an impromptu number (well, that’s what Posh’s people would have us think, and luckily there was a camera there to record the proceedings), which she did, totally off the cuff, and the fact that there are some well-rehearsed vocal harmonies on view is just sheer co-incidence.

After a quick unscientific poll of eight people exposed to the song but not the images, it saddens me to report that the reviews of the vocal turn varied from ‘nice’ to ‘OK, but a bit bland,’ with only one person saying it sounds ‘like lumpy vomit being forced through a small-holed sieve.’

And that was me. And I knew who was singing. I still bet they turn her microphone off for the Spice Girls tour though, the tune-holding bastard!
