PURE AND SIMPLE

For once the idiotic panel who judge the 'Mother of the Year' contest appear to have been struck by a dose of common sense, by declaring ex-Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw the winner.

That's the Suzanne Shaw whose children haven't been rushed to casualty recently and who was not pictured smoking when pregnant. What's going on? Although she did soil the charts with one of the worst bands in history, Suzanne is a much better choice for the title than Heather Mills and Jordan, who were also nominated.

Perhaps the 26 year-old had a bit of a sympathy vote behind her as she was famously dumped by Darren Day just weeks after she gave birth to their son Corey. The serial charmer scurried away from the relationship with the words, "I don't do family." That was three years ago and it appears that Darren does fuck all these days.

So congratulations to Suzanne, a single mum who goes about the business of raising her family without whining to the media every ten minutes and attempting to promote her latest venture at the expense of her kids. A nice way to be, but it'll never catch on..
