The makers of the new
Star Trek film have opened up a whole world of hurt for themselves after advertising open auditions for extras who look a bit 'odd'. Not a wise move when you consider the '
X Factor'
auditions in this country are ostensibly looking for singers, yet are peopled by bizarre-headed weirdos desperate to get their misshapen faces on TV, no matter how lamentable their singing skills, though it helps if you're married to
Ozzy Osbourne...
"This is an epic project and we are looking for the most intriguing and interesting faces to integrate in this film," said the advert for the audition. Surely CGI-ing the head of Robbie Williams onto the crowd scene would be less trouble?
But no, they want 'unique' featured people, though those from the northern states of America are welcome to try out, as well as non-banjo players.
Specifically they would like to see people with "long necks, small heads, bug eyes, large foreheads and over-sized ears".
Well, you guys may be in luck as it looks like
Agent Provocateur didn't want Lily Allen after all.
