The
Spice Girls comeback single '
Headlines' was always going to be a massive hit. Thousands of hours of TV publicity, an expensive video and to cap it all off it was this year's song for 'Children In Need'.
Remember, even Hale and Pace scored a number one back in 1991 with 'The Stonk' for 'Comic Relief', such is the shit that people will buy in the name of charity. Not this time, for it seems the Spice Girls bubble has well and truly burst, then all of the remaining bits of bubble got run over by a steamroller. 'Friendship Never Ends' but careers certainly do.
For the Spice Girls are set to just about scrape into the top ten on Sunday with their dreadful caterwauling.
"Let's make the headlines!" they squawked. Well done, girls, you've done just that! The worst-selling Children In Need single ever! You must be so proud.
