As there's nothing better to report on in the world, US commentators are using their resources to speculate why on earth
Nicole Kidman would call her daughter
Sunday Rose. Well, it is the question on everyone's lips, after all.
Leading the way is MSNBC who, despite claiming to have inside sources close to Nicole and husband Keith Urban, manage to come up with two theories, both of which are frankly rubbish. Really, David Icke has less ridiculous theories than these.
First of all they claim Keith wrote a song that Nicole simply loved (yes, credibility is being stretched already) and it was called… 'Sunday'. So when the baby arrived on Sunday, the choice of name was assured. A fine theory, if it weren't for the fact the baby was born on Monday.
The other theory is that the name is a slap in the face for Tom Cruise and the mumbo jumbo cult he is involved with.
A un-named source says: "Nicole is a Catholic, and Sunday was an important religious day for her until she was involved in Scientology. She's still bitter about her experience with Scientology and the fact her baby's name could be perceived as one last jab doesn't exactly upset her."
Yep, that's likely. Maybe they just thought it was a nice name? And ridiculous as it is, it's a million times better than anything Bob Geldof has ever come up with.
Unfortunately for both sides though, Nicole's father Anthony Kidman has come forward with a really boring explanation...
"There was a lady named Sunday Reed who was a prominent patron of the arts in Victoria [Australia].
"I have read a bit about Sunday Reed and her husband John - she was a key mover and shaker in the arts around the beginning of the century. The name Sunday struck me as being a nice name for a woman, so my wife and I mentioned it."
They should have let Alan Partridge name it and then we could have had a nice Fernando Kidman or something.
