SOMEONE GAVE NICKELBACK THREE SONGWRITING AWARDS

At the BMI Pop Awards in Los Angeles (us neither) many music stars were honoured. Hall and Oates probably deserve being called Icons and some bloke called Palow Da Don won some awards for writing songs for Fergie. Oh and then the brilliantly named Patrick Stump won an award for something Fall Out Boy did...

So far so MOR. But Nickelback were honoured for 'Rockstar,' (profound chorus being 'Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar') a song so basic it should have come flatpacked.

Fittingly they even won an award for a song called 'If Everyone Cared' which must be ironic, Alanis.

Still the best part of the awards was Christina Aguilera being recognized for her two big hits. That we wholeheartedly agree with.
