RIDLEY SCOTT TO MAKE REAGAN GORBACHEV FILM

WHO'S PLAYING RON?

RIDLEY SCOTT TO MAKE REAGAN GORBACHEV FILM

reaganbarrymore.jpg
The man who brought us 'American Gangster' is turning his attention Ronald Reagan (note we made no link between the two and definitely didn't mention Oliver North). Ridley Scott wants to focus on the 1986 disarmament conference between Reagan and Gorbachev, which he feels "helped shape history", which sounds reasonable to us. The only problem Scott has, however, is casting for the two main roles...
"It's less about visible appearance, more about the acting... you have to acknowledge the physicality," says the director.

"Reagan was tall and elegant while Gorbachev was stocky, like a front row rugby player."

So we'd like to help Ridley out by suggesting a few names...

To play Reagan

Michael Barrymore
Tom Hanks
Brian Connolly
Stephen Fry
Steven Seagal

To play Gorbachev

Bruce Willis
Steve McFadden aka Phil Mitchell
Jack Duckworth
Vin Diesel
Warren Clarke aka one of Dalziel and Pascoe

Any others?

I'd go for Swayze as Reagan and have Gorbachov as just a figment of his senile imagination. This would then lead to a 6th sense style twist where Reagan rips his own throat out (like in Road House.) To make this work on screen Gorbachov could perhaps be played by Bubba Smith (using CGI)
