We don't know what's wrong with us today - feeling sorry for Heather Mills and
Pete Doherty in the same day. Maybe we're coming down with something. Amid reports that people Pete owes money to are raiding his Wiltshire home to recoup their debts, it emerges that even his so called concerned fans are actually
publicity-hungry leeches...
Doherty has reportedly been offered a 'welfare fund' by a clothes website called lastseason.com, who promise to give ten percent of sales of stripy tops (Doherty's in prison, geddit?) to the singer when he gets out.
So kind and selfless of you when all your sales are going to be from trading off the guy's name in the first place...
This isn't the first time that Stefano Passantino, founder of the fashion website, has whored himself into the papers by leeching onto his 'hero' - he offered the singer £5,000 for a day's modelling a few months back and then swiftly made sure his site was mentioned everywhere when Doherty turned him down.
Passantino said: "The bloke's incredibly talented and as a musician he brings a lot of joy to people's lives. I am a big fan who wants to see this gifted bloke given every chance to get back on his feet again. I want to see Pete performing and writing new material for years to come.
"I'll do what I can to help Pete leave the bad stuff behind him."
What a selfless 'fan', nothing to do with getting free publicity in the slightest.
Don't worry, we're sure our Pete hatred will be back later.
