Touchingly, the couple have asked well-wishers not to send bunches of flowers and tacky little teddies holding love hearts with the message 'I WUV YOU' to the hospital, which is fair enough.
Instead, those who feel they must celebrate the birth of a child to a couple they have never met, can still spend their money, though they are urged to donate it to the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation instead.
And although less than a week old, the little one is the image of her mother, claims the proud father, though it remains to be seen whether that's a good thing or not.
"She eats like a little maniac and she's really sweet," said Joel. I have to confess, I'm not seeing the similarities yet. Hold on, there's more. "She barely ever cries!" Not even close to the mark... Though babies do have disproportionately large heads...
"I am finally home with my beautiful girlfriend and our brand new little daughter. She is 19 inches long and growing every day already!" And the baby is doing fine too! I thank you!
