The assembled press and assorted liggers flew (well, took the lift) to the top of the Gerkin for last night's ridiculously over subscribed 'Heroes' press conference to meet the lovely Hayden Panettiere (aka Claire Bennett), Jack Coleman (aka Mr Bennett), Adrian Pasdar (aka Nathan Petrelli) and Milo Ventimiglia (aka Peter Petrelli).
Let's not bore you with the a full transcript of the press conference though. God alone knows, if I'd wanted to know how they did the special effects I'd have read it on the internet, but here are some edited highlights, thankfully jotted down before the white wine obliterated any memory completely...
Dumb questions of the night
Runner up is 'Nuts', asking what Hayden Panettiere found attractive about British men.
Winner - head and shoulders above all others - a 'Daily Star' hack asking what superpowers the cast would like in 'real life'. How many times do you think they've heard this.
Best answer of the night
What superpower would you want a US president to have? Jack Coleman: "A brain."
Other bites
Milo Ventimiglia really does have a wonky lip and was hitting on the hack from 'Sugar'.
Barak Obama is a huge fan of the show and watches it on the plane between meetings.
Other 'celebrity' fans include Tobey Maguire, Steven Speilberg and Ben Affleck.
The cast are going out to dinner with Christopher Ecclestone tonight (and are fans of his Doctor Who).
TV news
Season Three remains in the balance. While the BBC remains confident it will get the season, if 'Heroes' is recommisioned, don't think Sky won't try and pinch it if it can.
Season Two spoilers
Expect lots of Samurai Hiro, expect Christopher Ecclestone to return and, for some reason, Eric Morecambe seems to have joined the cast. Well, that's what it looked like to me.
And finally
Yes, Hayden Panettiere is just as touchable in the flesh.
