MARIAH'S MAN REMAINS TIGHT-LIPPED ABOUT ENGAGEMENT

Nick Cannon, the man who was spotted with Mariah Carey at the weekend with a very conspicuous engagement ring, has been avoiding questions about their relationship, but he's got some odd compliments for the singer. Although you'd have to be pretty messed up to get it on with Mariah...

Cannon, who's 27 and a rapper and singer (nope, us neither), was quizzed by MTV after the pair were spotted at a premiere at the weekend with 38-year-old Mariah flashing a large engagement ring.

He said: "I can't even know what to say. She's probably the most festive, remarkable person I've ever met."

The most festive person he's ever met? WTF? Does she just wear that santa outfit from the 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' video all year round?

He went on: "She is a good friend. But rumours happen."

Rumours happen? Yeah, they do if you're with one of the most famous women in the world and she can't stop herself waving an engagement ring at photographers. And you being all faux coy about it is hardly putting the story to bed is it?

Sell a few more records out of it then sod off, you no mark publicity whore...
