Kirsten Dunst has emerged from rehab, blinking at the sunlight and shaking her head at her troublesome life. At last she has revealed what it was that drove her to the famous addiction clinic Cirque Lodge, the same place that famously treated Lindsay Lohan for her chemical addiction to strong alcohol and appearing in bad movies.

Kirsten was depressed. Not addicted to anything, just depressed. The truth, the whole truth and (despite her hard partying) nothing but the truth. Honestly.

"I went there for depression," she said, admirably managing to keep a straight face (and a straight face is a difficult call when your eye teeth are parallel to your chin).

"It was a good six months before I decided to go away," she said.

"I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself. I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn't know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge."

I'll bet he did. No, but depression is a serious illness... and probably an occupational hazard for Kirsten, whose performances in many movies have made a fair percentage of the world wonder what it's all about and whether there's really any point in going on with life. It's no laughing matter, as Kirsten points out.

"Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about."
