Kevin Bacon wants to show his lighter side

Happy-go-lucky Kevin Bacon has been complaining that he never gets offered comic roles. He's sick of constantly playing weirdos and paedophiles and is our second moaning redhead of the day.

The snake-headed actor slithered under the door at The Independent newspaper, hissing: "I'm the go-to intense kind of guy right now, but I really feel I'd like to lighten up. I was up for a couple of comedies this year and they were great parts and stories, but in both cases, the studio was like, 'Kevin Bacon? We don't think so.'"

Perhaps Bacon can ease his way into those more romantic and humorous roles he yearns for by funding a few productions himself. 'Clowning Around With John Wayne Gacy' might suit his talents, maybe 'Ted Bundy's Fun Day', or 'A Day On The Big Dipper With Jack The Ripper'. What a laugh they'd be.
