It looks like the campaign to have
Johnny Depp canonised is moving closer towards fruition as it has been revealed (and apparently not by the actor or any of his people) that following his huge donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital, he has now gone one better and begun to cure the sick himself. Or at least
one girl in a coma, for whom Johnny recorded a get well soon message. She's recovering, naturally.
After a serious car crash five months ago, 17-year-old Depp fan Sophie Wilkinson fell into a coma. In desperation, her father Andrew wrote to the star "looking for the key to wake her up". Johnny responded by recording a tape in his Jack Sparrow voice.
Is it only a matter of time before Depp starts turning water into wine (he’d be even more popular round these parts if he did) and healing the blind? I wouldn't put anything past him. Geri Halliwell's people were recently boasting about her singing bringing a teenage girl out of a coma, but that could have been out of sheer desperation to make the racket stop, whereas Johnny's contribution is part of a series of acts of general goodness.
Good on you, Mr Depp. Another few heartwarming stories like this and I promise never to mention your accent in 'From Hell' ever again
