NO CUTS FOR CATE

Bravo to actress Cate Blanchett who has declared to Glamour magazine that she would never consider going under the knife to boost her looks, though having this attitude is certainly easier to pull off if your blessed with an ethereal beauty rather than looking like the back end of a fire-damaged bus.

"I see someone's face, someone's body who has had children, and I think they're the song lines of your experience, and why would you want to eradicate that?"

Isn't that just a line from 'Shirley Valentine'? Anyway Cate, who is 39 tomorrow should be applauded for such attitudes and it'll be interesting to see if she's still so adamant when she's approaching 50. And as Cate wisely says:

"Death is not going to be any easier just because your face can't move."

That depends. If someone's coming at me with an orbital sander and murder in mind, I'd much rather have a frozen face, thanks very much.
