BBC AXES GRANGE HILL AFTER 30 YEARS |
It was with a heavy heart that we read yesterday that the BBC was axing 'Grange Hill' after 30 years. No more would kids have the chance to drink in the BBC's ham-fisted positive 'yoof' messages, delivered with more and more of a sledgehammer approach with every passing year.
Gone were the days when issues like Zammo's drug abuse were dealt with over a whole series, and in came the soundbite approach of cramming everything from teenage pregnancy, racism, underage drinking, bullying, domestic abuse, drugs, dyslexia and not being able to complete your Garbage Patch collection into the same show.
Anyway, to mark its passing, here's the best thing they ever did. Just say no, kids.
