As long as 'forever' doesn't include any commitments in China, South Africa, Australia or Argentina
The
Spice Girls have cut their big
world tour short - obviously finding themselves enough in pocket to mean they need never work again, sooner than they thought...
The five-piece apparently decided that there is no need to fulfil their commitments to fans in any parts of the world outside of a stone's throw from their comfort zones of London and LA, disappointing thousands of fans across the world who have already bought tickets for the shows.
In a message to fans, the Spice Girls said: "Really sorry if we didn't get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives now but who knows what will happen next."
While fans on the most dedicated Spice Girls forums have responded with messages of their own, such as:
"A twatty has-been like Geri made fun of my country and therefore ME. I NEVER would have expected such low behaviour from my childhood idol."
"I am absolutely disgusted with how the girls have (mis)handled things."
"They flushed all my illusions down the toilet along with their image."
"I'm very, very sad that the Girls have chosen to end the tour right now, and my heart goes out to all those fans who won't get to see the concert."
But on the bright side - no one outside of the Beckham household will ever need listen to Victoria sing again. No such promise can be made of Melanie C or Emma Bunton, but you can't have it all...
