Amy Winehouse has done the unthinkable and pledged to give up alcohol. Before she performs on stage, that is. Not forever or anything. But if that's the case, she may want to kick the skag first. And then give the ketamine the old heave ho, before saying no to speed and cocaine and cutting down on the cannabis and the tabs.
Amy has just finished performing in Amsterdam, where the organiser of her concert, Jan Wilem Luyken, made the following, startling announcement:
"She wasn't drunk when she came in and she did not drink backstage."
He went on to add, wait for it:
"I don't think she was stoned either."
Give her a chance, she'd probably only just sobered up from breakfast.
According to Luyken, Amy admitted to the crowd that she won't be drinking before gigs, only afterwards.
And, true to her word, she managed to hold out for the entire one hour that she performed without even so much as a drop of absinthe, before declaring...
"Now I want to get drunk again," probably while swigging from the nearest two litre bottle of vodka to stop the shakes making her skeleton-like frame rattle so hard that those at the front could barely hear the music over the din of the clacking bones.
