Following on from yesterday's revelations that
50 Cent looks likely to be quitting music after trailing
Kanye West in the UK midweek charts, we get the brilliant news that he could come third in the US charts with country star
Kenny Chesney coming second.
Imagine Fiddy having to explain to his homies how he was squaring up to hip hop rival Kanye West in a duel to the death only for cheeky scamp Kenny Chesney to run in and pull his trousers down before Kanye delivers to fatal shot.
Fuelling the publicity mills on a US TV show this week, West said of the rivalry:
"To be honest I didn't think it was a good idea at first. But it's not actual beef; it's just being competitive as far as hip hop is concerned."
It's not actual beef? Phew, I was worried for a moment there that what should have just been a cynical move by the music industry to give a boost to the dying hip hop market was in actual fact dead cow meat. Thanks for setting the record straight, Kanye.
