hamstir on Sat 12 July 2008 said... Yeah but i think he's just made the doctor bit up
fuzzylowhangers on Sat 12 July 2008 said... Good grief. Have you just bought one of those 'Summer RnB' albums? California Love? 2 solo albums and shitty compilation album in over 15 years ... not exactly pushing himself, is he?
HeroicDose on Sat 12 July 2008 said... You fucking cunt
RogerFederer on Sat 12 July 2008 said... Dre's a bit like that Timbaland cunt, pops up in other peoples music videos now and then just sitting there nodding his head looking all smug.
Better than that absolute twatmaster Dizzee Rascal though.
Mohammered on Sat 12 July 2008 said... He does pop up in videos but he did make all the music, which is quite important in a song.
SlipperyGimp on Sat 12 July 2008 said... Kudos to him for NWA, but he sold out long ago. Involvement with Eminem was good (Eminem was a good, funny rapper at least). Snoop's sold out too, they're all just doing collaborations with R&B singers these days and it's all too commercial. They're loaded though, so they won't complain.
RogerFederer on Sat 12 July 2008 said... Tupacs the best though, he's released about 17 albums since his death. Amazing!
libertyvalance2008 on Sat 12 July 2008 said... I thought he lived with Elvis and that fat pimp, drug dealing cunt B.I.G. on an island somewhere
HeroicDose on Sat 12 July 2008 said... "Because the list seems pretty devoid of Hip Hop". I wonder why that is?
SlipperyGimp on Sat 12 July 2008 said... Music genres are subjective, HeroicDose. You might enjoy north vs south debates.
hamstir on Sat 12 July 2008 said... Thou shalt remember that guns, bitches and bling were never part of the four elements and never will be. Dre's responsible for lots of boasty hip hop which is just fucking awful
sandyman on Sat 12 July 2008 said... shoot the black police hating womaning hating gay hating white hating bastard
HeroicDose on Sat 12 July 2008 said... No, Slippery I wouldn't. People's tastes in music are indeed subjective, but Hip Hop isn't music. Oh, and fuck off by the way you patronising cunt.
POOSTRIPE on Sat 12 July 2008 said... is Dr Dre short for dr fucking dreadful ? Or poss dr fucking dreary ? Absolute pile of shite with sweetcorn in it.
HeroicDose on Sat 12 July 2008 said... That may have been a bit harsh, Slippery. Hangover madness is pulling my head apart.
washinglinethief on Sat 12 July 2008 said... Since when did shouting to a backing track ever have anything to do with music? God I feel old. Music by definition needs to be err....musical.
dandyboy on Sat 12 July 2008 said... The track Roger mentioned, isn't that the one used in the Daily Telegraph adverts? Very street.
merf on Sun 13 July 2008 said... lazy bastard, plus I suspect he's not a real Dr.
SlipperyGimp on Sun 13 July 2008 said... A lot of modern day hip hop is absolutely bollocks, but there is good stuff out there (Aceyalone feat RJD2, Aesop Rock). The best stuff though has already been and gone I think. washinglinethief, The Roots are very good. You can't beat the good ol' days of Streetsounds Electro albums, Follow The Leader, Takes A Nation Of Millions, Tougher Than Leather etc...*starts reminiscing*
MrsMoon on Sun 13 July 2008 said... I pray there will soon be an openly gay rapper, and blast all this machismo bullshit to smithereens.
DoctorFunkenstein on Sun 13 July 2008 said... He gave us Eminem, Snoop Dogg and California LOve, and your putting him in the Sacred Cows section? Get in the Corner you cunt.

ConradFeinsteigal on Sun 13 July 2008 said... Yes - I agree, The Heroes scetion needs to be blacked up a bit. I think next we need a paki, then a red indian and after that an abo.
washinglinethief on Sun 13 July 2008 said... I think you misunderstand me Slippery Gimp. All hip hop and any other type of rap music (and it hurts me to refer to it as music because its just fucking shouting) is fucking awfull. Also with it we have imported the lowest of the lowlife American street/drugs culture which is why our teenagers are currently stabbing each other to death. Bring back the 80's soul and jazz funk, that gave out a vibe of love rathen than the black music of today that is full of hatred, you know the good stuff before house, garage and garden shed etc. By the way, rather predictably I think you are a cunt and should fuck off. Nothing personal but I feel it would be rather poor form not to say it.
catfood on Mon 14 July 2008 said... "Bring back the 80's soul and jazz funk" - are you fucking serious? if anything's going to make someone go on a homicidal stabbing bender it's going to be a fucking shakkattack reunion. tosslily.
MerylHighground on Mon 14 July 2008 said... On the subject of gay hiphop artists, few people know that Dr Dre has struggled for years with cruel taunts about his sexuality, owing to the fact that he was christened Dr Dressingtable
MrsMoon on Mon 14 July 2008 said... You could argue that James Brown has been far more influential than The Beatles on modern music...
MrsMoon on Mon 14 July 2008 said... Meryl... or Dr Dresslikeliberace?
washinglinethief on Mon 14 July 2008 said... Alright Catfood, maybe not shakattack.
FuckYouCunts on Mon 14 July 2008 said... Dr Dreary

SaleoftheCentury on Mon 14 July 2008 said... WLT, I have to ask but were you actually around in the 80's because from I seem to remember a time where it was commonplace to hear of knife attacks, where football hooligans routinely used to create fucking mayhem, wher it was fairly normal to see someone glassed in a pub on Friday or saturday night. The music is not the reason why our teengagers are stabbing each other, they always fucking have done.
milkplus on Mon 14 July 2008 said... Shit Rapper though
BurningWheel on Mon 14 July 2008 said... Dr. Dre. Not a real doctor. Like Dr. Paisley.
framey on Mon 14 July 2008 said... Probably a doctor of philosophy eh?
washinglinethief on Mon 14 July 2008 said... You're wrong on this one Sale, yes there were glassings in pubs, football hooligans and occaisional knifings etc but not in the age range of 14-16 that we are having them now. It seems we get them on average about once every 2 days now. We are talking about children stabbing chidren here not adult hooligans. It is far more commonplace among young kids now and is not something we ever used to hear about back then. I stand by what I said about the hip hop music bringing with it a culture of inner city street gangs, drug wars etc. The kids get involved because they think its trendy or whatever the word is these days and of course there is always peer pressure. The kids are using American gansta rappers as role models and of course are behaving like them killing members of rival gangs. It is a culture of violence, hatred and spiritual sickness. To be fair to you living in Berlin as you apparently do it is not suprising you are a little out of touch with life on the streets here. I am also thankfully a degree out of touch with the youth culture because yes I was around in the 80's and was a part of those less toublesome more laid back times. I say thankfully because now I am too old and too sensible be involved. We used to have fights back then sure, but is was rare for somone to actually die just because they had spilt someone elses pint. Also we should bare in mind that only a small proportion of stab victims actually die, most survive so you could probably multiply the amount of child stabbings that we don't hear about by about ten.
MerylHighground on Mon 14 July 2008 said... WLT, would you read me a bedtime story? That was a wonderfully reasoned and calm sort of diatribe there
washinglinethief on Tue 15 July 2008 said... Would love to Meryl, perhaps one night when Mr Highground is on night shift or something.
chinky on Tue 15 July 2008 said... wlt does not know how to differenciate levels of reporting of crime to levels of actual crime.
washinglinethief on Tue 15 July 2008 said... OK chinky, if you think you know better enlighten me.
Sable on Tue 15 July 2008 said... I agree with some of what WLT is saying, but to be fair I'd suggest he watches 'Scum' if he thinks this is an altogether new phenomenon.
washinglinethief on Tue 15 July 2008 said... I saw "Scum" many years ago Sable and I think its a bit of an unfair comparison to compare what happened in a film set in a borstal with what happens today in everyday life. Also the only kid that died in Scum was the one that commited suicide after being fucked up the arse. Of course there are also other factors as to why our society has become so sick. One of the other major ones is having the most oppressive controlling government in my living memory. It is a fact that the more you try to control people the more they will rebel. Its human nature.
washinglinethief on Tue 15 July 2008 said... A promising performance from a young Ray Winstone though.
washinglinethief on Tue 15 July 2008 said... Perhaps sable you should see a film also from that era called "the warriors" about american street gangs.
Barbersmith on Tue 15 July 2008 said... Anyone over the age of 12 who listens to rap, hip hop or whatever the fuck they call it is a fucking prick. Case closed.

nvlope on Tue 15 July 2008 said... There's plenty of gay rappers out there. They're always banging on about their homies.
framey on Tue 15 July 2008 said... I wonder if there are any statistics showing how many of these knife crimes have been committed by and against first and second-generation immigrants. Each time they mention the victims' names and the names of their assailants, neither (with occasional exceptions) ever sound British. Wierd huh?
ComradeDuch on Wed 16 July 2008 said... Eric B and Rakim please. No violence there either, just rhymes about how they were better rappers than others (which they mostly were).
washinglinethief on Wed 16 July 2008 said... The other rappers may well take offence to that.
