The number of baffled, broken buffoons who who gave up within a few weeks probably also went up by 15%, though I admit that is supposition. I do play guitar, and if people are inspired to take up the instrument then that's a good thing. Unfortunately, there is nothing creative or musical about the guitar hero games. You don't get to write your own music, or learn about chord progressions, or indeed anything beyond 'guitar wanking' to bad rock music in front of a fake crowd. Mind you, I'll take it all back if one of the people who bought a guitar because of it turns up in a good band one day. Until then, I won't hold my breath.
